With a welcoming pub-style culture, Ireland has an entertainment style
all its own. Visitors can stroll the streets, finding bars and pubs
literally everywhere. In Dublin alone, there are more than 1000 pubs.
The possibilities are endless. Friday and Saturday nights are buzzing
with activity in the Temple Bar area. The large selection of
restaurants, nightclubs, and super-pubs, attracts both tourists and the
younger crowd. . On the weekends, patrons usually have to pay an
admission fee of around €5 to every nightclub or super-pub.
Fortunately, however, some places have free entry until 10:00 p.m. In the Temple bar, a patron can easily pay around €4.50 for a pint of Guinness where you pay normally around €3.50 in other areas in the centre. The more you are out of the centre though the cheaper the Guinness gets. Wine is pricey everywhere and served in small 200ml bottles. The price is usually around €5. If your stomach is rumbling, and you have an appetite for a tasty dinner, expect to pay about €20 / person in a cheaper restaurant including wine. On the other hand, you will pay around €30+ / person for average restaurants. Restaurants in the Temple bar are very pricey more the €40+ /person range.
