Cost of Living vs Salary - 2008/03/05 15:21 Hello,

Apparently I found myself a job in Dublin ... from overseas. My CV sent by email and a phone interview was all that was needed to get me that job and move permanently to Ireland. Easy indeed! I am still asking myself if I this is all true.

However, what worries me most is this: it's been years since I last visited Ireland and now I am relocating to Dublin with a starting salary in the region of 21,500 Euros/year. I have no idea of the living costs in Dublin and wonder if anyone could give a hint as to if this (viz Euro 1,700/month) is good, reasonable or poor pay.

I know it all depends on the way one manages his/her money but I am not really into spending money in unnecessary things. I really mean the basic studd: accommodation (I will be living alone in the 3-4 months, food, transport. etc).

Cheers!

Bruce

Re:Cost of Living vs Salary - 2008/03/07 13:29 Hello Timothy,

Thank you for letting me know this. That was my main concern, really. Perhaps this would be an excellent salary in some countries of Continental Europe and I really appreciate your insight.

Cheers,
Bruce

Re:Cost of Living vs Salary - 2008/05/02 10:24 Hi

I've just registered on this site today because I'm trying to find people to fill a load of finance jobs here in Cork!!! Anyway I saw the post and that salary is a disaster for Dublin - the cost of living is 20% more expensive there than in other places in Ireland.

Does anybody know how I'll find people looking to move to Cork so that I can see if the jobs I have will suit them??

Re:Cost of Living vs Salary - 2008/05/02 16:17 Hiya,

You can post them all in here. I will also post them to the hungarian version of the site. Lots of ppl don't want to live in Dublin... so I would say you have a fairly good chance to find ppl to fill your positions.

Cheers
Z.
